Biografia
Laura Fois nata a Sassari nel 1986. Ha vissuto a Madrid, Londra, Roma, San Francisco. Da diversi anni lavora a Cagliari come giornalista, telecronista di basket e libera professionista. Si occupa di comunicazione, marketing e innovazione. Durante la sua permanenza in Spagna ha approfondito le sue conoscenze sul terrorismo e pubblicato il saggio L’ETA: la storia, il terrore, la resa (L’Universale, 2019). Come la noce nel cuscino è il suo romanzo d’esordio.

Born in Sassari in 1986, Laura has lived in Madrid, London, Rome and San Francisco. For several years, she has worked in Cagliari as a journalist, basketball commentator and freelancer. Communication, marketing and innovation are her main interests. While in Spain, she researched terrorism and published her studies in ‘L’ETA: la storia, il terrore, la resa’ [ETA: the story, the terror, the surrender] (L’Universale, 2019). Ginevra Corbez and Simone Spargi are two young people living at opposite ends of the spectrum, but united by a devastating family loss. After the death of her mother, Ginevra moves to Madrid, where she works as a writer. She suffers terribly from the end of her relationship with Lisa. Simone, on the other hand, is a freelance journalist, perpetually searching for news of his parents, who disappeared mysteriously when he was only six years old. The place where they were born, the small village of Casanuori, a sort of epicentre of returns and departures, is the place that will connect them. Through the pages of Ginevra’s diary, day after day, a story unfolds that will increasingly unite the destinies of the two protagonists, engaged in a sort of catharsis to reach a new beginning. Come la noce nel cuscino is a hymn to sensitivity and feelings, the tale of a generation capable of stripping itself of society’s useless trappings, ready to stand out and embrace diversity. As an old Spanish story goes, if it is true that each one of us has a nut inside our pillow that does not let us sleep, it is up to us and only us to remove it, or rather to take it –and our life- into our own hands.
